SNOW AND ICE MELTING SYSTEM FOR RAMPS & ACCESS WAYS

nVent RAYCHEM VIA-DU-20 is an energy efficient control unit for ramp heating, surface snow melting and de-icing applications. Equipped with ground temperature and moisture sensors, the system is only energised when these are both activated. An optional ambient temperature sensor is available, for identifying risk of freezing rain.Control unit for snow melting on ramps, steps and footpaths.

The electronic control unit ensures that the surface heating only starts when the temperature falls below a certain threshold and moisture is detected on the relevant surfaces, ensuring efficient energy use.

Compatible with EM2-XR cables.

The control and monitoring system must have 3 sensor control logic:

• Ground temperature

• Ground moisture

• Ambient/air temperature

In addition to a 3-way sensing control and monitoring capability, the controller must have the following functions:

• Freezing rain precaution function to switch heating circuits on when there is a risk of freezing rain or sleet

• Programmable controller and digital display

• Monitoring of sensor defects

• Alarm relay for remote monitoring at the BMS
